3D Model Mock Up:
This is a screenshot, from Photoshop, of an edited 3D Model I had made. This model was then put on to Photoshop and I added textures and features to it and a background. This is so I can get an idea of what it could like if I were to apply it to my project.
This is a picture of the model I made for this task. I cut out a bunch of random shapes of cardboard and then tried to create something original with these shapes.
Questionnaire + Results:
From this I can take that Most people who answered the survey were Male.
The most common ages where between 15-20 Years Old. The least where under 15 and over 50.
Almost half of the people that answered this question play video games all the time so I am applying this to the right audience.
Almost everyone said that they like the mystery genre or said it was ok. This is good for my project.
An overwhelming Majority would prefer to investigate a murder/manslaughter crime which is also the most common in the genre. Runners up include Terrorism and Trafficking. This means I could do one of these in my project.
Not one person wants to have answers handed to them and want to do it themselves.
Again, Almost all would want to play a realistic Crime game. Some maybe.
This list will help with inspiration sources. I can take the good things from the media listed here and implement it into my game.
This is a great response for my idea and that a lot of people would be excited for it.
Most people would recommend however there are a couple that wouldn't.
Collaborative Clay City:
This is an image of a collaborative project that the group worked on. Everyone made a small building/feature out of clay, that would then be placed in this city. This task was classed as primary research so that we could see different designs of buildings and how multiple things made by different people could be a part of the same thing. It was also a way of testing clay when making models. Now people know what it is like we know whether we want to use it or not in the models we will make in future sessions.
End Of Primary Research:
Now I have completed the Primary Research stage I can use it (especially the questionnaire) to heavily influence the scene and what people would want. This is also a really good way to research and also a different method which is good for variety.
